SCREENING IN FISHMEAL AND RENDERING PROCESSES

SCREENING CAN BE:

– Separating liquids like water and oil from solids, meat and bone

This screen is a simple, long cylindrical screen or mesh with holes that is often used to separate medium to large particles from liquids such as in waste water plants and press water in rendering and fishmeal plants.
Mostly small to medium capacity.
The cylinder can be positioned horizontal or slightly angled, and sometimes with a 1 to 2 inch screw conveyor ribbon welded inside to facilitate forward movement of the solids
The hole or mesh sizes can vary a lot depending on application.
Some rotary screens are used for dry separation of scrap and rubber gloves from meals.
The cylinder runs in rollers and is mostly driven by a chain drive.
